About Us:
Caroline Mead is a firsthand expert on time scarcity and efficiency in high-pressure environments. During her 35-year legal career, she quite literally sold time—billable hours were her commodity. While practicing law, raising four children and caring for two elderly parents, she became consumed by a central question: why is everyone so relentlessly busy and how did we get here?
Mead's interest in time use began at age 12 while reading Cheaper by the Dozen, a novel featuring parental protagonists who were time and efficiency experts. She went on to build a high‑stakes professional career navigating such extreme pressures that it became imperative to master her own time and efficiency. Since then, she has become fascinated with time and its impact on everything from decisions and creativity, to memory and well-being, to the very way we define success, purpose and meaning.
Mead’s expertise on time and efficiency is grounded both in practical experience and research. Her study of time deficiency draws on academic literature in neuroscience and behavioral science, interviews, and anecdotal evidence from a career mentoring others to function at peak capacity without losing themselves.
Through her writing and speaking, she offers a fresh, compelling and insightful framework for understanding time scarcity—and transforming it into a source of clarity, fuel, and growth.

What if they are the true dwelling of the holy,
these fleeting temples we make together when we say,
“Here, have my seat,” “Go ahead—you first,” “I like your hat.”
